LEGAL STATUS

Tranzit Express Inc. is a licensed freight broker operating under the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Tranzit Express Inc. does not act as a motor carrier and is not responsible for the physical transportation of freight. By using Tranzit Express Inc.'s services, the Customer agrees to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

DEFINITIONS

Freight Broker:

Tranzit Express Inc., acting solely as an intermediary between the Customer and the Carrier.

Carrier:

A licensed motor carrier who performs the transportation of goods.

Customer:

Any party using Tranzit Express Inc.'s services, including registered users, account holders, and shipment arrangers.

Bill of Lading (BOL):

A non-negotiable shipping document that must be issued by Tranzit Express Inc. and used for all shipments.

BROKERAGE ROLE & LIABILITY

Tranzit Express Inc. does not handle, store, or possess freight. All liability for loss, damage, or delays rests with the Carrier. Tranzit Express Inc. ensures all Carriers are properly licensed and insured at the time of dispatch.

CUSTOMER OBLIGATIONS

Customer is responsible for:

Providing accurate shipment details (weight, class, dimensions, NMFC code).
Using Tranzit-issued BOLs.
Preparing freight for transport (packaging, labeling, and loading/unloading arrangements).
Ensuring sites are accessible for equipment unless additional services are ordered.
Paying all fees related to services rendered, including accessorial charges and reprocessing fees.

BILL OF LADING (BOL)

Use of the Tranzit Express Inc. BOL is mandatory. Failure to use the official BOL may result in cancellation, denied claims, loss of discounts, and a $95 reprocessing fee.

ACCESSORIAL FEES

Charges include but are not limited to:

Lift Gate: $150

Call Before Delivery: $35

Residential Pickup/Delivery: $95

Labeling/Tagging: $135

BOL Not Used: $95

PRICING STRUCTURE

LTL shipments are based on freight class, dimensions, weight, and zip codes.

TL and partial truckload services include 2 hours of detention; $75/hour beyond 2 hours, max $600/day.

TL cancellations under 4 hours of scheduled time are charged $350 or 20% of load value.

Oversized/expedited shipments may incur additional charges.

INSURANCE & LIABILITY LIMITS

LTL:

Carrier limited to $0.10/lb.

TL:

Carrier required to carry $100,000 cargo insurance.

Recommendation:

Customers are encouraged to obtain third-party insurance.
